SEMARANG - Citra Nawasari as the representative of Central Java has just attended Miss Tourism Indonesia (Putri Pariwisata Indonesia) Competition in Jakarta from September until October 2018.
Citra Nawasari, or Cimi, is a beautiful young woman
who was born in Semarang 20 years ago. This pretty tall woman is now having her
education program at Diponegoro University, Faculty of Economic and Business, in
the major of Management. For her campus activity, she joined the Management
Student Association as the public relation division. To spend her spare time,
she uses it to be a freelancer model and joined wedding organizer team.
She started her career as a model ever since she was
in senior high school. There were so many competitions that she had joined. She
even joined pageant contest in some cities before attended this competition. By
joining a bunch of competition, she got much experience. All of the ups and downs
during the process, she loves that the most.
Citra got the third place in Putra-Putri Batik
Indonesia (Central Java) XXVI 2014 Competition. In 2015, Citra got the chance
to join Denok dan Kenang of Semarang. In that competition, there were 349
participants that registered and then would be eliminated to become 25. Citra
became one of those who succeeded and made it to the big 10. “Even I only got
the chance until the big 10, I got so many lessons and experience about my
hometown, Semarang,” said Citra with her beautiful smile.
Furthermore, Citra also told the stories about how she
became the finalist in Miss Tourism Indonesia to represent Central Java in
2017. “Actually I tried it for fun (Miss Tourism Indonesia 2018)” said Citra
with her sweet little giggle. “I’ve joined Denok Kenang Semarang in 2015, so I
thought that was the time where I developed my interest in tourism” she added. Moreover,
Citra already had a passion for modeling and that’s become the reason she
joined Miss Tourism Indonesia 2018 competition.
Miss Tourism Indonesia (Putri Pariwisata Indonesia) is
a pageant or beauty contest in Indonesia that has been held since 2008. The
winner of this competition will represent Indonesia in Miss Tourism
International event.
Citra Nawasari became the representation of Central
Java to compete in Miss Tourism Indonesia. There were 38 participants from
34 provinces. After the selection and Citra got the place to represent her
region, she prepared many things. “It was tiring,” she said while laughing. She
did the preparation for only less than a month. Preparation
items that must be taken during quarantine must be provided by the participant
itself.
Quarantine was carried out in Jakarta for 2 weeks. “Well, there were so
many things that I had to prepare at that time like a cocktail dress, national
costume, region souvenir, and etc. I also prepared the material that I’m going
to present for the presentation and for the talent show. I did some physical
practice and catwalk” added Cimi, the girl who likes to do zumba.
During the quarantine, there were many activities that
she did. Briefing from various speakers, photoshoot, catwalk class, makeup
class, talent show, presentation evaluation, presenter competition, visited
Podomoro University to celebrate World Tourism Day, and interviews.
According to Citra, the classes during quarantine were the most memorable
activities because she got a lot of knowledge she had never gotten before.
On the Grand Final night, the winner of this beauty
competition was announced. Unluckily, Citra didn’t make it become the winner. It
was still a beautiful moment in her life because she won the title of “Miss Tea
Indonesia” as a special award. “I was very happy, even though I did not come
out to be the winner of the Miss Tourism Indonesia, at least I already
represented my province and got the title of Miss Tea Indonesia. By
participating in this competition I could get an amazing experience and new friends too," said
Citra. She added that this competition encourages her to become a better person.
This competition also makes Citra want to promote
Central Java especially in the tourism sector, such as Go-Digital and Instagramable
tourist destinations, sports tours, culinary tours and so on.
Lastly, Citra hopes that Indonesian tourism sector
will be more advanced, become worldwide, can attract more local and foreign
tourists, be able to increase the country's foreign exchange and prosper the
people through the tourism sector. "Indonesia is a country that has been
very beautiful and has wonderful natural resources, I believe that our country can be more advanced and developed,"
said this Miss Tourism of Central Java.
